Great language movement
Since its inception in 1947, the Ansar forces have made significant contributions to every important moment in history. Abdul Jabbar, the Ansar platoon commander of Mymensingh, was martyred in the great language movement. The force is proud of his sacrifice and contribution.
Pak-India war
During the historic Pak-India war, in 1985, Ansar forces along with the then EPR were deployed in the country's border outposts to defend the BOP.
The cyclone of 1970
During the catastrophic cyclone of 1970, the Ansar forces were responsible for relief and rehabilitation work.
Great liberation war
At the beginning of the Great War of Liberation, on 16 April 1971, at Amrakan (Mujibnagar) in Meherpur, the People's Republic of Bangladesh was given the Guard of Honor along with Ansar Platoon Commander Iyad Ali and 12 other brave Ansar members. Responding to the call of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the greatest Bengali nation of all time, 9 officers, 3 employees and 758 Ansar members of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force were martyred in the great war of liberation. The 40,000 Three Knot Three Rifles of this force was the main force of the War of Independence. In recognition of his contribution to the great war of liberation, one member of this force was awarded the title of Bir Bikram and two members were awarded the title of Bir Pratik.
Natural disasters
This force has made important contribution in dealing with natural calamities at different times after the great liberation war. Members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces actively participated in relief and rehabilitation activities, especially during the devastating floods of 1986 and 1996.
Railways and railway protection
In Operation Rail Raksha 2013/14, about 8,327 members of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force have gained the confidence of all by being in charge of security at 1,041 high-risk points in 36 districts. At the point the railways are responsible for maintaining safety at the risk of life. Last year, 06 members were killed in various accidents.
Roads and highways
In order to curb the politically unstable environment and to curb terrorism and militancy, from 2013 to 2015, 11,918 members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force were on duty at 993 high-risk roads and highways across the country. Last year, 27 members, including 11 seriously injured, were injured while on duty.
Air and land ports
Members of the General and Battalion Ansar are on duty at the national and international airports of the country to provide security at the risk of their lives. Recently, while on duty at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, General Ansar member Sohag Ali was killed while dealing with terrorists with boundless courage. Most recently, Ansar member Firoz Hossain was stabbed to death at the Benapole land port.
Hilly area
In order to maintain law and order and suppress terrorism in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, 19 Ansars of Bangladesh Ansar and Battalion Ansar of the Village Defense Force were killed in the ensuing battle. In addition, about three hundred members died prematurely due to various reasons. In addition, more than a hundred Hill Ansar and Hill VDP members were killed in various frontal battles and clashes in the highlands.
Selection
Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces have an important role to play in maintaining public security in various elections including the Jatiya Sangsad. The presence of female voters at polling stations has increased significantly at present, especially with the deployment of female security personnel. Many of our members have been seriously injured and killed to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections. Last year, 05 VDP members and 01 male member were killed while holding office in different elections.

In addition, more than 50 members were seriously injured in various counter-terrorism and counter-terrorism operations, including the Holy Artisan.
In the case of sports
In the field of sports, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force are playing an important role. The force was awarded the Independence Medal in 2004 in recognition of its significant contribution to the development of sports and national sports. Bahini's sports team has won the Bangladesh Games four times in a row. Last year, in various national sports competitions, Bahini's sports team became the champion in 10 events including 96, gold, 61 silver and 6 bronze medals and 09 gold, 08 gold in international sports. , And won 11 bronze medals
